GREEN SPARKLY OMBRE

I love ombres because you can never really go wrong. This time, I paired OPI's Did It On Em which is one of my favourite colours and OPI's My Very First Knockwurst to create the ombre then topped it with Quo by Orly's polish Trash Glam (love the name). And ofcourse the stud that ups the trash glam factor.

MOBY CHICK COSTUMES PHOTO SHOOT

It's was such a pleasure to work with Sophie Lennox King, the designer of these amazing costume-esque pieces. Plus we got to shoot at the Scarborough Bluffs, one of the city's unsung locations. Thank you so much Sophie for giving me total creative control on the look of the hair and the makeup. And Rinn was the most easy going model I have ever worked with. It took a lot of hairspray to get her hair like this and she was such a trooper.

BEST BEAUTY AND DRESSED AT THE 2013 MTV VMA

Don't you just love award shows? The hair, makeup and performances and even the gossip i.e.. Miley Cyrus performance and Taylor Swift and Harry Styles showdown, the glitz and glamour of it all is, well, entertaining.
Here are my top 5 from last night's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards show.

Taylor Swift was striking in Herve Leger and sultry eyes and red lips. Werk!

Selena Gomez in Versace! Versace! Versace! and berry lips

Ciara in Givenchy Haute Couture and nude lips and well, barely there makeup

Rita Ora in Alex Vauthier and nude, barely there makeup to offset her elaborate gown

Katy Perry in Emanuel Ungaro dress and nude makeup, which seem to be the theme for the night

NEW IN BEAUTY: SIGMA EYE BRUSHES

I discovered Sigma makeup brushes a few years back when I purchased their much talked about Synthetic Kabuki Brushes that I must add, did not disappoint. Since then, I have received many emails from Sigma when they launch new products but none has caught my attention more than the sight of their blending brushes, now available to purchase individually. The E36 brush is a small, tapered blending brush that will be perfect to precisely blend eyeshadows into the crease. This brush is my fav of them all and looks nothing like any tapered blending brush I have ever seen before, hence why this brush is now a Sigma trademark.  I am such a sucker for blending brushes and own so much but the E36 brush is truly unique. I also picked up 2 of their E47 Shader Crease brushes which also apply shadows precisely in the crease and blends without smudging shadows all together. In a world of HD everything, precise blending is key to a flawless finish and these brushes are everything. I also got the E25 Blending brush as well as the E40 Tapered Blending brush which are similar to MAC’s 217 and 224 which are industry standards and every makeup artist must haves.

Stay tuned for looks created using these brushes as well as an in depth review of their performance.

Brushes came packaged in their own individual sleeves
